Our Full Wrap Color Change Process, Step by Step
1. Wash, Decontamination and Prep
Film only looks as good as the surface under it. The car was washed and decontaminated, and every panel was cleaned so no dust, wax or residue would be trapped under the film.
2. Disassembly for Wrapped Edges
To get a finish that looks like paint, we removed parts like the headlights, wheels and the front emblem. That lets us wrap the film around the edges instead of cutting it short, so there are no white lines showing when you look closely.
3. Precision-Cut Panels
Each panel of film is cut specifically for this car, with extra material left where we need to wrap edges. You can see the pieces staged on our glass wall, ready to go on the car.
4. Panel-by-Panel Installation
The film goes on wet, which lets our installer position it perfectly before it is squeegeed down and the edges are sealed. Large panels like the hood are done in one piece whenever possible for a seamless look.
5. Reassembly and Final Inspection
Once every panel was covered, the car was put back together and inspected under our shop lights for lifted edges, bubbles or dust before handing it back to the owner.
The Result: A Satin Black Porsche 911
The finished car looks like it left the factory in satin black. The satin finish shows off every body line of the 911 and hides the fingerprints and swirl marks that gloss black is known for. The white paint underneath is fully protected.
